Rivalry among established firms
The four biggest players in the movie and entertainment industry is; Sony, Walt Disney Company, Time Warner, and News Corporation.
These four companies represents 26.2 percent of the industry.
The rivalry between these companies are fierce. To stay alive they have been forced into investing into their value chains, to both owning film, television and other media productions and distribution channels, in a pursuit to increase the competitive capabilities, profit margins and benefiting from substitute products as well.
The high bargaining power of the end users also forces the whole industry to pursuit an ever improving development of their productions, because there is very little loyalty, and large revenues at stake.
